Ok, folks!

Ok, folks!

If you want a quick and satisfiying solo-rpg-session, what is your minimal/optimal setup... The more I look at it, the more I think, the tons of ressources are a bit intimidating and keeping me from trying...

  1. From my experience in both rpg's and mini's gaming, solo gamers tend to be the nicest people :-)

  2. Fabian Khalil there are several systems that have a "usage die" mechanic -- if you need to track things but don't want to, it makes it simpler.

Most times I just don't don't track that crap unless it adds to the story (e.g. tension of running out of food far from civilization) and assume seasoned adventurers have enough sense to manage food and ammo. Maybe impose a "restocking" tax anytime you hit town, if you feel guilty or worry about imbalance.

  3. The "EDNA" system from some of the Toofatlardies mini's games works well.

    Set a value.
Whenever you use the thing, roll a suitable die and if its over the value, reduce it by 1.
When it hits 0, you're out.
