You're the last human on earth. Congratulations, you made it!
Your only reprieve from the melancholy and madness are tabletop role-playing games. Games that you could only play, obviously, by yourself. If you could only pick one system for your go to mechanics, which would you pick and why?
If I'm not allowed to have my usual electronic game aids, I'd have to go with a good dungeon crawler like Scarlet Heroes (I'm assuming I'm allowed to have graph paper!).
ReplyDeleteIf I'm allowed to have my electronic game aids, it's a toss between Trollbabe, Our Last Best Hope and Remember Tomorrow. Trollbabe is very elegant in its simplicity and flexible, and only PCs have stats. The latter have more of a baked in pacing mechanism to them which can be very helpful as a solo player since the decision making of when the game ends is taken out of your hands.
Alex Yari I've not played Remember Tomorrow, but I've been wanting to try it ever since I read through it. Good for one shots, I imagine?
ReplyDeleteThat's what I've read about it. My own session is unfinished as of yet (not for lack of wanting to play).
