CALL FOR CREATORS!

CALL FOR CREATORS!
The Week Four Challenge: Create a solo game or tool for the community. This can be a full game or RPG, an oracle,
random generator tables, inspirational cards, or even an app or web site.

Here's what I got from scanning the solo communities at MeWe, Reddit, and G+ that I think applies. Did I miss anything that would qualify?

This is my One-Roll Fudge RPG Core system which is now finished and I submit as my project for the SGAM and Fudge RPG NaGa DeMon 2018 challenges. It is Pay-What-You-Want (PWYW). Tell me what you think. I played it and like some aspects about it. I also wrote a setting that needs to be revised in the next month before it's ready.

Any contribution goes to this furthering this game system and the game novel book. This is sort of my "kickstarter".

In the magical world of Harry Potter, people still communicate through letters. They are written on parchment, and an owl is responsible for carrying your missive, no matter where in the world its recipient is. Is there anything more "QUILL" than that?
So, here it is my homemade scenarios for Harry Potter, all of them about Christmas!

SGAM2018 final stretch! I've love to see some more Story Seed entries. Come on, these little bits are actually fun like popcorn. Grab three images, get inspired, write up a couple paragraphs and bam! You're contributing to a community project and you get your name in a raffle for some swag.

It's time to wrap up those Solo Gaming utilities and other projects for the Week Four challenge. If you have something, post a URL here (or one of the cross posted threads on MeWe or Reddit) and we'll get it into a poll for voting starting December 1st-ish. [That way you get all of November if you need it to finish.]

Also congrats on everyone who did the Week One and Two challenges, some fun stuff there and thank you for sharing.

Part three of my “North of Lemuria” series using a Barbarians of Lemuria and Untold: Adventures Await mashup. Episode 3: a PLAGUE of RATS features Asara’s sidekick, Manda the tagalong minstrel from Satarla. Manda is statted up as a tough with little more than 2 points in attributes and 2 careers, making things a bit tense when it came time for the dice to hit the table. A couple of lucky rolls when they counted really made it pleasantly surprising. #UntoldBGG #BoL #SGAM2018

I'm brainstorming my first TTRPG adventure using So1um & looking for some input. I posted the following in the discord group but it didn't seem too alive today so I'll post it here.

I'm brainstorming my first TTRPG adventure using So1um & looking for some input. I posted the following in the discord group but it didn't seem too alive today so I'll post it here.

I'm rolling some Star Wars characters, a unit of Death Troopers & using this description http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Death_trooper & DT-5537 (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/DT-5537) will be my main character. I've never played a TTRPG before, group or solo so be gentle :). Here's what I have so far...

DT-5537

Body: 2, Mind: 3, Charm: 1 ...

Background: Received advanced training in Unarmed Combat, Demolition, Sniping, & Guerilla tactics at Camp Scarif.
I also need to determine what classified augmentations he received. My thought is to make each member of the unit the same skill wise with each having different augmentations & different histories & lives before Imperial training.

My story for this adventure: An attempt was made on Director Krennic's life while on his way to a meeting at Eadu Energy Conversion Labratory. DT Unit TI-19 successfully secured the director who suffered only minor injuries from an explosion at the facility that resulted in a substantial set back in kyber refining. Intel revealed the attack was coordinated by a highly trained group of Marauders lead by Drevin Kain. DT Unit TI-23 was ordered to find the terrorist cell, eliminate them, & capture Kain & deliver him alive to Krennic. The relentless efforts of Unit TI-23 reveal that after fleeing from Eadu, the Marauders split into two groups before going into hiding. DT-5537 & his unit track one of these groups from the Expansion Regions to an underground cave system on Planet Corellia.

What do you guys think? I just need to get my character sheets filled in & a good start so I can get to playing & getting familiar with the mechanics & all the imagination involved with TTRPGs & soloing.

Has anyone else found that they've stopped getting notifications from this community? I checked my settings, and nothing has changed, and I still get notifiications from other communities, even though I only ever post here.

Mothership is cool - it's like Alien / Aliens scifi, with 4 classes (Teamsters - think Ripley from Aliens), Androids (Ash / Bishop), Marines (Hudson, Hicks) and Scientists (drawing a blank here). The fully-featured classes have different saves (Insanity, Fear, Armor, Body) and different stats (Intellect, Strength, Speed, Combat) and some skills that add to rolls.

The rules include Mercenaries, so you take the normal more fully-featured classes and boil them down to 3-4 stats. Combat, Instinct (the catch-all non-combat stats and saves), Hits (your merc can take 1-3 hits), Loyalty (whether they do something good for the team in a stressful situation or good for themselves).

I'm going to have to try some All-Mercenary Party for a solo game. They're too perfect and expendable. The mercenaries' loyalty is great, I can roll that to let the 'PCs' surprise me with their PvP antics, which seems apt for the genre. Burke running away and sealing Ripley and co away from an escape route, Ash fucking everyone over, Bishop being the Best Artificial Person of all time. Hudson freaking out (though really this is more of an Instinct Save and Panic Roll), Hicks being cool as a cucumber. And the Mercenaries have skills, so one Instinct 30 merc can still be better than another at hacking computers or driving forklift exo-suits.

Anyway, I feel like this game has gotten some good press lately, and had thought of doing this and running mercenaries through awful space horror derelicts. Should be fun.

Hello all. I'm brand new to tabletop RPing. I've been reading up on the rules for the game system I selected, Open Legend RPG. I also have selected Mythic for my GME. Not sure how all this is going to come together yet but I hope to get through these materials & then get some kind of actual solo gaming going.

Woot! Posted the third part of my Trollbabe+Barbarian Prince hybrid. Ended on a surprise for me since this is the first time that I have played BP. It should be no shock that BP was a great driver for a Trollbabe game. But, at the same time applying the RPG and using a different protagonist changed things up and gave it that Trollbabe-a-licious feel to it. :-)

Next up is some story seeds. I plan to do a bunch this weekend even though I'm disqualifying myself from the raffle. I do have a question and perhaps a point of clarification. Last year, with the Zach Bestiary, I exercised some editing of the PDF for format and consistency. I was planning the same this year, it does make for a better source book, but I wonder how far I should go. Some of the entries only have one line and I was thinking about fleshing some those out with more info for the reader. Would this particularly offend anyone? It won't change your raffle odds or anything, but I want a little more 'meat' for the readers to chew on. Thoughts?

Don't forget that there's a new challenge for folks that want to create solo rpgs and tools. I do plan to enter that which is why I want a separate voting system as opposed to the raffle for the story seeds. Near the end of the month, I'll see about collecting URLs so everyone can view and vote.

I've got an idea for a sort of epistolary solo rpg actual play blog series told from the perspective of a protagonist who - much like myself - is a middle-aged out of shape gamer without any particularly notable "adventuring" skills.

I've got an idea for a sort of epistolary solo rpg actual play blog series told from the perspective of a protagonist who - much like myself - is a middle-aged out of shape gamer without any particularly notable "adventuring" skills.

My first instinct was to just rely on various premade solo modules - the Call of Cthulhu "Alone Against" series, Fighting Fantasy gamebooks, Tunnels and Trolls solo modules, etc, convert everything into GURPS, and play the same (generally hapless) character as his skills improve and he grows somewhat competent, creating a linking framework to explain all the genre hopping.

Now, though, I sort of want to expand from "just solo modules" to playing through premade adventures designed for group play. Which tools would you recommend for this? I don't want to deviate from the published details too much - I'm pretty good at compartmentalizing player/GM knowledge - but I'd like something that helps keep me surprised when it comes to NPC actions, particularly in combat.

Is it just me, or is #SGAM especially quiet this year?

Hope this serves as interesting fare for Solo Gaming Appreciation Month (SGAM).

I’m writing a space-themed solitaire gamebook using the OpenD6 system and find programming all the entries for the pivotal combat encounters a bit cumbersome. So I started thinking how to simplify combat for such fare...not necessarily for this current project (I’m almost finished with the writing) but for potential future projects, should my enthusiasm for both solo gamebooks continue.

Hello everyone!

I just wanted to point out that The Covetous Poet's Adventure Creator and Solo GM Guidebook is the Deal of the Day at DriveThru. It is marked down to $5 from the regular $10 price.

If any of you folks have been on the fence about adding this resource to your solo kit, now just might be a good time to do so!

Cheers!
