This is partly based on things I've written in #WritingWithDice, parallel concepts I later found in the Location Crafter, and ideas that I read in The Writer's Journey. As I find better ways elucidating on it, the document will evolve.

Feel free to leave feedback, ideas, etc in the comments, or anonymously if you prefer. I very much appreciate it since I'm interested in finding ways in which tools can incorporate this.

Thanks for the detailed explanation Alex Yari, I greatly appreciate it!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, Tarcisio Lucas: creating baseline assumptions makes it even more of a shock when something strange happens - very useful for a horror or mystery game.
Gerard Nerval I'll bear your advice in mind and not go overboard on the assumptions.
Alex Yari Based on your suggestions, my current thoughts are: before play, I'll write out a few assumptions for the genre/setting and some principles and then during play I'll add evocative tags for anything interesting that comes up (perhaps with parallel tags to contrast with the normal thing).
ReplyDeleteI'll try it out over the next few days and let you know how I get on!
Cool. I hope it's fun for you!
