Sorry I've been very quiet the last few days. I have a huge stack of gamebooks and Solo-RPGs to play through, However I have been working on a little side project which I'm quite excited about.
Its basically a hybrid ruleset for Four Against Darkness to allow you to run published Dungeons & Dragons Adventures with a party of four.
I will go into a little more detail when I have documented it all a little better (its just loads of post-it notes on my work desk at the moment!!)
Its exciting stuff! and with an open mind and some basic conversions you too can play official (and unofficial) DnD modules solo! I've actually been testing it with Tales from the Yawning Portal and also a third party publication called Adventures in Middle Earth!
Stay tuned for more info!
Tana S. Pigeon I agree. I think systems like mythic are awesome but they don’t feel much like a game, more of a writing exercise. 4AD is the closest I’ve felt in years to an old school DnD solo game. I think with some tweaks and extra rules. You can easily play published modules. While the role playing aspect is still scarce, you’ll still get to experience the story as a party, slay the big beasts and score the treasure! It’s gonna take a little time to write up and there’s still more testing to be done. But it’s possible
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to teach myself more solo games. Love tabletop and minis but I want to learn RPGs too. I travel and work a lot so I only have time to play solo if want to play at all.
