I will be writing part II soon, but it works basically as a story structure tool. In my first article I highlight how the 5RDM can be used to describe minute by minute, one room situations or hour by hour city locations. It's really a template that can be used to goal post where you want your solo adventure to go. The good thing is, it doesn't really allow for dead ends and worthless fluff which, in my solo experience, really bogs me down.
I am also in the process of writing an aritcle about how to create solo locations using a dice pool. John Wick did a video to show how collaborative dungeon building can be done, but the mechanic can also work in solo. You just have to be judicious and honest when building it. More on that later.
