As a follow up- I ran halfway into the MCC starter adventure using two vaguely defined characters with almost no book keeping. I only had to roll a couple times. When I encountered a monster, I decided how I would run the scene as a director. Just knowing all I had to do was roll an odd or even. I can run all the adventures I own now. So great.
