For those of us who post our solo plays to blogs: does it make more sense to keep those integrated with our other RPG blogging, or to set up a standalone blog specifically for that? I've been doing the former (https://skaldforge.wordpress.com) but strongly considering breaking out all my solo RPG stuff into a separate blog.

It's whatever rocks your boat. You can easily separate solo plays using tags.
ReplyDeleteI personally feel that breaking them out contribute to the idea that solo is somehow different and strange, which I suppose I can understand. I feel like it might be nicer to integrate them as a whole.

ReplyDeleteThey are different though.
I wouldn't assign the "strange" descriptor though.
Solo and group play both occupy the same Venn diagram ;)
When I read solo blogs, I enjoy reading about rpgs in general. Even if it isn't specifically solo related, I will find it interesting. Conversely, if a gamer comes to your blog to read general rpg stuff and finds a solo related entry, you may have just opened a mind to a new thing.
ReplyDeleteThat's a win win in my book.
Right, looks like consensus - status quo it is! Now to make some time for solo play again...
ReplyDeleteyou made the right decision.
ReplyDeleteIt's fine to mix them. You have a tag for solo play.
ReplyDeleteI added your blog to dieheart.net/solorpg
