So, guys, I have a question for all of you. What are the perks of playign a Solo Game with only one main character instead of a full party, besides time expenditure?
After experimenting with DW and Scarlet Heroes, I decided to finally pick a solo system and got Advanced Fighting Fantasy 2e, but I'm having a VERY rough time thinking on a party I like when compared to only one character, it feels weird however to imagine a lone adventurer as I did on Scarlet Heroes, but I gotta say I kinda enjoyed it...
Todd Mauldin Ok, now I have to try a solo 4AD with a cleric.
ReplyDeleteAlex Yari That is why l like games were NPCs have stats and can use skill checks: more tactical depth without the overhead of maintaining another full-blown PC
ReplyDeleteI love party banter, so most of my single PCs end up collecting a party round themselves even when I start off with the intention of having a lone hero/ine againt the world. I frequently have NPCs "graduate" to PC status after they've been in the party awhile.
ReplyDeleteOf course, I find it really easy to write dialogue, so this might colour my advice / play style.
