ReplyDeleteYou guys should join Tana's group at Yahoo and here in G+. :) It's a little quieter than this one, but it has great stuff. The Yahoo group's archives are a gold mine too. I recommend them!
ReplyDeleteThe update mentions the systems that will be included as part of the Variations II supplement:
ReplyDeleteThe Fate Check system: Replaces the fate chart with a dice only system. Tana S. Pigeon says it mirrors the results of the original system pretty closely (I assume she's talking statistically).
• The Detail Check system: replaces Complex Questions.
• The Statistic Check system: As I understand it from the post, it's a simplification and generalization of what the Creature Crafter does. So, it'll work not just for monster stats, but for anything.
• The Behavior Check system: As I understand it, a general NPC emulator, or NPC AI. Basically, handle everything from conversations to how an NPC attacks.
• The Event Check system: "This is almost exactly the same as the current Random Events system, and uses the same Focus and Meaning Tables."
Detail, Behaviour and Stat check systems seem interesting, any word on when it will be ready to buy?
