Ok, so, I'm decided to give it a go to Scarlet Heroes after all, but the main classes aren't really something I like. Trying to make my own, I come for you, the experts, for advice ;O;

Ok, so, I'm decided to give it a go to Scarlet Heroes after all, but the main classes aren't really something I like. Trying to make my own, I come for you, the experts, for advice ;O;

I have two questions:

1.- Is there some source of Classes I can easily convert to SH?

2.- How would you create a Hero with an Animal Companion and, would it unbalance the game since I have fray dice already?

  1. ... or use the advantage mechanic on the fray die, or roll twice and combine the results...

    it's solo gaming -- there is literally one customer to please and it's you. it doesn't matter if it's broken or anything -- it only matters if you enjoy yourself and like what you're doing. b/x is similarly compatible with AD&D which is similarly compatible with 5e. if you use 5e, you'll have less attack bonuses, so combat will be harder. if you use pathfinder / v3 attribute bonuses, it will be easier to hit or do damage so combat will be easier. if you use D&D 1e/2e it will be a bit of a mix of both but if you have high str/dex and specialize in darts it will be easy... etc. just use what you like!

    It sounds like you are worried about balance when you should be worried about the story and your engagement with it. it's not like you could possibly do it wrong as judged by others... that's not what this community is about

  2. Rather than getting multiple attacks, you could increase the size of the fray die (d6 to d8 to d10 etc). Or you could allow the fray die to be used against creatures with greater hit dice than the PC.

    I agree with Mike and his beers, though: there's no wrong way, as long as it works for you.

  3. Upon reflection, I also understand the desire for balance. Personally, I don't want my PCs to be overpowered, because if nothing challenges them and there's never any real danger, the game gets boring really fast. So if you pick a conversion method that doesn't end up working, you can always scale it back or try a different one later.
