Btw... the GMA decks have runes printed on them, if you have those but no runes. A set of runes on Amazon is about $15-20, around the same cost as a printed GMA deck (19.99+ship).
Unfortunately, the "quick preview" of the pdf is too small and blurry to read, at least on this tablet. The only thing i got out of it was that it takes about 20 minutes to play.
I'm slightly disappointed with Runewalker since at its heart it is a game of solitaire played with runes. I think there can be a lot more done with the Elder Futhark runes or Cirth (Tolkien's Dwarven runes expansion) in the way of RPG game play, oracles, or babble tech (random word generators.)
I've got a new version of Zero Dice that I will deploy tonight that fixes the keep logic and adds a very short description to the runes in the text box below the icons. But, it still can't do a proper casting since it has no orientation or relationship with other runes. ZD's method is more like pulling them a bag, the only relationship is sequential.

ReplyDelete[Note to self] Look into the feasibility of adding 'rune dice' to Zero Dice.

ReplyDeleteThere's a d24 rune-die you can buy from the Journey to Ragnarok 5e non-official adventure. It's another option in case you're interested.

While we're on the subject, there's also an RPG called Fate of the Norns that uses runes in place of dice.
ReplyDeleteAdded the Elder Futhark runes to Zero Dice. I've actually got more ideas planned for them, but at this point the web toy does roll them up for you.
