So I'm thinking about this hack of Amazing Tales, ICRPG, and Risus.
Characters can have a cliche or core concept which help fill out details, and three or four abilities assigned D6 d8 d10 and d12
The target to beat any given challenge can be assigned to the room (or scene) and a special score for a special challenge.
It looks like this:
Yorik, Knight of the Realm
Sword fighting d12
Hunting/tracking d10
Persuasion d8
Cyril, Cyberdecker
Data extraction d12
Underworld contacts d10
Cooking Italian food d8
Dirty fighting d6
You could decide someone is really bad or disadvantaged and take the lower of two or just use one fewer die.
You could also de-rez and have the stats refer to your party, army, or tribe.
ReplyDeleteThe Blue Dogs
Pistol combat 12
Escape 10
Negotiation 8
Okay, so how does resolution work?
Let's have a fight with the fanatical Redcloaks. You can give one guy a difficulty of seven and three hp
or the group. Say your Shirtless Barbarian has Longsword d12 attacks Raging redcloak DC7
I roll the d12 and get 8. I can use whatever system of damage I prefer. Either he's lost one of three because he only best the target number by one or I could say he has.to beat the target number three times.

I made a party and encountered a city and didn't have a way to generate a city randomly satisfyingly I'll just assume they make friends with a patron who gives them an assignment with some operating currency
