Hey all, I've been looking recently for something to help me during solo play, but I've been coming up blank.
I'm currently playing a demigod scale game using a year/month timeframe format. The idea goes something like this:

Year X
Goals for Year: x, y, z.

Month 1
Action: Pursue goal x. Explain methods.
Complications?: Determine some logical complication. Resolve using plot or game mechanics.
Results/Consequences : Stuff that happened as result.

.....and so forth for consecutive months and years. My question is whether anyone has read, played, created or knows of a... framework(?) for game play of a different time span than day-to-day.

  2. It's homework, but of the good kind. :-)

  3. The faction rules in any Sine Nomine publishing game work on a monthly turn, and can handle pretty large scales. Stars without Number is free to check out, but other games have genre-appropriate modifications.

Empires for Mongoose's version of Runequest is one I liked, and has some good random event tables that could be leveraged for other games. It may be hard to find though.

The D&D Rules Cyclopedia has rules for domains and abstract mass combat rules to go with them.
