Trying to run a solo play with no idea of where you're going takes a bit too long I've found.

  1. Heh, sometimes solo play is about the journey. In this case, you're also laying out the crew roster and personalities. There are some systems the enforce story arcs and pacing, but I prefer sand boxes myself.

  2. I always find starting without a plan either excruciatingly difficult or easier than my ideas of how things should go, but there's no middle ground. Sometimes a break helps me get back to it, though. T&T solitaires do wonders for clearing my head.
