What sort of roleplaying experience did you PRIMARILY have before becoming interested in solo rpgs?
I can't make multiple choice polls in G+. If you have similar amounts of experience with multiple types of roleplaying, give priority to TTRPGs. If you started with solo RPGs (including gamebooks), just choose "no prior experience."
Thanks!
If your'e not sure how to categorize something just use the Other category and leave a comment (polls are limited to five by G+).
Notes:
CRPG = Computer Role Playing Game
TTRPG = Table Top Role Playing Game
Also, apologies to those who voted in the previously deleted poll. I made a mistake on that one.
Jonathan Donald TFT was awesome. I didn't technically start with it, but I think that's the game that set the hook deep. I never ever "won" any of the solo modules, but played them for hours and hours.
ReplyDeleteTodd Zircher, my wife is also a non-gamer. I'm forcing her to play Lego Heroica with the boy and me and you can smell her disdain.
ReplyDeleteMy solo start was definitely Red Box D&D in Bargle's dungeon. I played my fair share of computer RPGs, with focus on old-school roguelikes like Moria and Larn, but red box came first. I played solo D&D before I played group D&D by months.
I would say I started by adding RP elements to board games with my family and friends. Then going solo as I created my own board games (as a kid) and play testing them.
