Has anyone done something with this, or something like it, in their own solo/solitaire games?

  1. Scott Hill I try to keep it at or under 5. Factions are basically characters to me. Too many factions is like too many main characters in a movie--they get distracting and hard to remember details. A couple at a time and I can explore their traits and interactions before I add any peripheral groups.

  2. Not trying to take away from SWN.

Blades in the Dark gives factions 1 to 3 goals that require 6, 8, or 12 segments to be filled for the goal to be finished.

If the player doesn't interfere, then each faction rolls a d6 for each Tier it is (BitD faction Tiers start at 1 and go to 5). Use the highest roll.

    1-3: fill in 1 segment
    4-5: fill in 2 segments
    6: fill in 3 segments
Double 6's: fill in 5 segments

After the characters finish a mission (well defined in BitD), roll for the factions and major NPCs.
