This is somewhat on-topic:
There's a Humble Bundle offer for Gamemaker Studio 1.4. I'm considering getting it because I've found that the mobile space is sorely lacking in the kinds of tools I am interested in (like Axebane's Deck of Many Dungeons https://www.thegamecrafter.com/games/axebane-s-deck-of-many-dungeons)
now, so I'm thinking of rolling my own. I can make do with Javascript, but I've found that my web pages didn't scale well to mobile. I also don't really want to mess around with frameworks like Apache Kordova yet.
So, I'm thinking of getting that offer. Has anyone messed around with this software?
Also, as an alternative, does anyone know of any software that lets you scan cards? That could satisfy some of my needs. I've heard of Virtual Table, but I don't know much about it.
Cardwarden is good for a quick and drity deck of cards. Can scan straight from camera or import images. IOS only but I've used it for a few things, and have even played entire card games like Lord of the Rings LCG using it. itunes.apple.com - CardWarden
ReplyDeleteTabletop Simulator may be in the field for what you are talking about. You can play solo on it easily amongst other things. There are thousands of player created assets. It is available on steam.com
ReplyDeleteI think I'm going to buy Tabletop Simulator, despite the fact that I passed on it before due to lack of mobile.
ReplyDeleteCardWarden sounds like it would be a great fit for me, but I'm on an old hand-me-down iPad. Maybe in the future, but it looks great. I wish they had it for Android.
Speaking of, I did find this custom dice maker app that I'm going to try. It also lets you build decks.
