So what is English Eerie?
It's going to be a solo horror storytelling game where the player writes entries in a journal over a series of days. The theme is the spectral landscape of England, inspired by M.R. James, Algernon Blackwood and films like The Wicker Man. The player finds themselves being dragged deeper into a sinister tale as tension rises and new clues reveal themselves as they come closer to revealing the final horror.
The rules will contain a series of scenarios to inspire stories, creating a framework for players to live their own tales of rural terror. The idea is to play one scenario over a number of nights, preferably by candlelight.
This sounds fantastic!
ReplyDeleteSolo+Horror=Me, highly interested. Non-Lovecraft, big plus (not that I'm opposed, but just interested in other horror gaming BESIDES HPL...)
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to this.
