Hi everyone

Hi everyone,

Long-time solo player, first-time poster. First, I love how active and engaged this community is. You guys are always beacons of fun and creativity.

Second, a question: in all my solo play I have never attempted emulating a group of players playing their characters. Any advice, resources, examples of/for crafting player personalities to add another dimension to the play experience?

Thanks a lot!

  1. adding the players to a group of PCs makes things more complicated, it'a one more layer of roleplaying. You can do it in a simple or a complex way.
COMPLEX: make detailed PCs and detailed players, basically every character is a combination of 2 NPC: the actual PC and the simulated player, each one with background, personality etc.
SIMPLE: make detailed PCs (personalities, backstories, goals etc.) and add one type/class of player for each PC.

You can easily find player types with google (this is an example http://www.enworld.org/forum/showthread.php?331599-The-Ten-RPG-Player-Types)

  2. A few years ago I did a Simulated players basic D&D game, but stopped about half way through the first module. I ought to go back to it at some point.
