I had a little extra time the last couple of days, so here is the link for what I am sure will only be version 1 of my Perilous Wilds generator spreadsheet. It works in Libre Calc, because that's the program I used. I tried opening it in Google Docs and it broke all of the references. I have no idea if it works in Excel properly. If you run into troubles or have suggestions for improvements I'd love to hear them.

It will regenerate the Region every time the spreadsheet recalculates. If you want to save a region my best solution so far is to copy and paste the almanac into Libre Office Write. Write treats the selected cells as a unified image.
ReplyDeleteI plan to work on a dungeon generator to go along with it eventually. Either integrated into the same spreadsheet or as a new one.
You can certainly edit the tables or anything else. If you add to the lists on the Tables tab you'll need to update the number at the top of the corresponding column on the Rolls table so that it will use all of the available options.
That's wonderful! Will dig into it in a bit and have shared this post!
ReplyDeleteNice job! It looks amazing...but i have to confess that I am not certain about how to work/understand it...are you thinking in a kind of tutorial? I am looking foward it, because it will add a lot to my solo plays.
ReplyDeleteThis looks awesome!
ReplyDeleteTarcisio Lucas all you really need is the Almanac tab. If you are using Libre Calc, pressing F9 will recalculate and give you new results. Alternatively, it your press Ctrl+R in an empty tab, it will also force it to recalculate. I assume Excel has a similar recalculate funtion, but I'm not certain what the key command would be.
ReplyDeleteAs for the results you are free to interpret the tags as you find useful, but you'll get the most out of it if you pick up the Perilous Wilds PDF from Drive thru RPG. That is the bulk of the source material for the spreadsheet.
Geoff Osterberg Thank you very much!
ReplyDeleteNo problem! If you have other questions, let me know. The other tabs are either for generating the information the Almanac tab needs or for organising the random table results so that it was easier for me to format the Almanac tab.
ReplyDeleteCool!
ReplyDeleteFinally found the time to add it to the list on resources on https://dieheart.net/solo-rpg-resources/
ReplyDeleteThank you, Geoff Osterberg
Sophia Brandt Awesome! Hopefully someone's hexcrawl or sandbox game plays a bit easier for it.
