I like this. I immediately want to think of how to level up a PC in this system... 1 HP per level, fight/save stats don't improve, probably max out around 3-4 HP. Most of the 'progression' would be more like 'now you have this weird ability.'
I like it, but the magic example confused me. From memory, the Mage had a Reserve of 7, casts Magic Missile and then has a Reserve of 1. Wasn't Magic Missile 3 magic points? How he lose so much reserve?
Very impressive. IMHO it is more difficult to design simple rules than it is to create a complicated set of rules. I'm going to see if I can make some time to play around with this. Thanks for posting.

ReplyDeleteAnyway, very cool! Thanks for thinking of this.

ReplyDeleteJohn Risus you're right, it's not clear in the text. You have 7, casting magic missile cost 3, 7-4=3 points left. I think that I have to my english!
ReplyDeleteCharlie Vick I agree with you: there is a lot to do: leveling, spells, objects.... Next time, I'll post a short adventure ready to play.
ReplyDeleteEdit: leveling or changing class (Warhammer style)
