Hey! Part 2 of 2 of my solo Dungeon Crawl Classics funnel is now up: https://aerzyk.weebly.com/home/solo-gaming-dungeon-crawl-classics-part-2
Once again, I appreciate feedback and hope you get a good read out of everything. Not sure when I'll get to the "next chapter" for the survivors but I'll share that when it happens, too.
Check it out, if you like!

CN you talk a little about what made it time-consuming? I find when I’m solo gaming with more than one character I end up writing out their conversations or descriptions, which can take a lot of time.
ReplyDeleteAny useful streamlining you might be able to try?
Chris Bennett I guess writing the descriptions & manipulating the map were what took the most time. If I'm not releasing/sharing the game, I normally don't write so much, if anything at all. I'll still use a virtual table top tho.
ReplyDeleteAs for streamlining, I'm not sure. I enjoy the writing. I feel more immersed & I remember things better. I could try to write much more shorthand & then maybe go over it later to make into something someone else could read, just to make the game run quicker. Map manipulation might be sped up by not following movement rules so strictly so that way each square isn't being counted one by one during fights? /shrug It's time consuming but I do enjoy the experience.
Aerzyk Thomas If I understand you correctly, you manipulate the map more than what you show in your blog post? Such as each turn?
ReplyDeleteThat would take a lot of time! I do like the idea that you can save a snapshot of the current map.
Great story! Keep it up. I like how you pieced together the prior rolls to decide what the final boss was. That made the story feel complete as opposed to a series of random things.
Chris Stieha lol, yes I do move the "minis" around each turn like a board game. It was fun but I don't know if it was worth the extra time. I'll probably just put them where I'd like for the snap shots & theatre of the mind most of the rest, we'll see. Thanks for reading
ReplyDeleteGreat description of the demon.
