I've been playing around with using Genesys/Star Wars dice for an answer oracle and this is what I've come up with so far.
Base oracle is one Proficiency and one Setback die rolled together (dub this as "PS").Reading "success" as Yes and "failure" as No gives an overall 50-50 split of results. Things get unbalanced interpreting the breakdown of the outcomes.
Count and cancel dice results as normal.
read results as:
Success = Yes.
Failure = No.
Advantage = and... (for a "Yes" result); but... (for a "No" result)
Threat = but... (for a "Yes" result); and... (for a "No" result)
Triumph = Random Event, Unexpectedly (CRGE), or Twist (I've dubbed this as RUT)
% Breakdown:
Yes, and... = 8.3%
Yes. = 27.8% (2.8% RUT)
Yes, but... = 13.9% (2.8% RUT)
No, but... = 30.5%
No. = 16.7% (2.8% RUT)
No, and... = 2.8%
Use for 50-50 or unknown odds.
Adding an additional Setback die ("PSS") gives overall results of Yes = 37% and No = 63%. (Unlikely ?)
Adding a Boost die to the base pair ("PSB") gives overall results of Yes = 63% and No = 37%. (Likely ?)
Once again, the breakdown is a bit messy. ( I'll post them if interested).
RUT is constant at 8.33% throughout.
Going much further is madness. (without a program to calculate results, which is beyond me, I think)
If any of you folks have stayed with me this far ( and I didn't confuse the heck out of you!), maybe you might want to take it for a spin around the block sometime?
EDIT: Optional Altered and Interrupt Scenes (see Mythic GME for details)
At the start of each new scene, roll the Proficiency die and a d6 (or what you have at hand).
If Triumph is rolled, the scene is altered or interrupted.
Triumph and odd d6 result = altered scene.
Triumph and even d6 result = interrupted scene.
Cheers!
