This game is getting queued into my cart. I don't know anything about it other than it's supposed to be a solo fiction writing game using D6s: http://www.rpgnow.com/product/242698/Flash-RPG?src=hottest_small

Thanks for the review, Alex Yari ! I think I’ll pass on this one, then. Zack Best’s tools are fantastic, and I’ve recently found the draft of ISC he released last (which was a pleasant surprise, courtesy of this group).

ReplyDeleteWell, here's my $0.02... it's not utterly groundbreaking but I had some fun with it tonight. I've always wanted an RPG that I could use my typewriter to play (got close on the Quill C'thulu variant) but yeah, if you're used to doing solo interpreting AND looking for someting with some crunch as far as rules go, this may not be your thing. Me, I enjoyed making a little microstory. I found it was kind of like doing a puzzle. After the rolls I knew everthing that was supposed to happen, including the end but didn't know the how... so instead of "playing to find out" as they say, I "wrote to find out." I ended up with a B- microfiction story for my podcast, and had some fun. Here's the means, managed to fit it on two sides of a index card. YMMV but if you like writing little stories it's probably worth a buck. I'll probably return to it from time to time for sure.
