Solo roleplaying is, by definition, a solitary pastime, but I notice there seems to be a tendency for players to archive their sessions online for others to read. I imagine this stems from the fact that there's no one to share the experience with at the literal or figurative table, so allowing a broader audience to see what happened is something similar.
I've tended to put my stuff on RPGSolo's forums, since I used to do most my solo gaming there. More recently I've started keeping my sessions in a dedicated document for the game in question, sometimes in Google Docs, sometimes in Word/Scrivener/whatever. The RPGSolo stuff is obviously public, but I've wondered where and how to share the other material, assuming I share it at all.
Where do you choose to put your actual play write-ups? Social media (here or some other site)? A blog? A message board? Somewhere else?
Spencer Salyer No worries! It wouldn’t be the first time something new slipped past this old man, so I wanted to ask. 🙂
ReplyDeleteI should answer 'blog' even if unfortunately I update it less frequently than I would like, since I have limited time for solo rpgs therefore I prefer to spend it playing instead of translating and posting actual plays on the blog
ReplyDeleteMost l of my stuff is currently private. I posted a few early attempts on RPG.net but none of them really took off. Partly because I only really nailed a system for maintaining a coherent campaign structure after I gave up on the last one I posted. I have one or two now that are going strong and I am considering either posting somewhere or starting a blog for
