  1. I just got done with the test scenario. Nice. Reminds me of a structured Mythic. I like how it's structured to make you ask questions to drive the story forward, but at the same time the more you ask the more likely something unexpected will happen.

I rushed a bit at the end just because I was getting a little tired of fiddling with the CYOA aspects of the scenario, & TBH I had already generated a satisfying conclusion.

Overall it told a very easy & coherent narrative, so no complaints! Looking forward to seeing the full version.

I get the same vibe from this one that I did from "Ironsworn" - that being a comprehensive, all-in-one package, with all the tools included, could be a real game changer.

  3. Hello!

Having read the blog and looked over the sample, I am intrigued as well.

However, I find that a bit of the criticism on existing GMEs is exaggerated. Mythic does have story goals (= threads) and they, together with the CF do create a game state.

This being said, the structure libre gives to scene setup as well as the insistence on having details/scenery influence the mechanisms does add a lot of interesting aspects.

However, I feel that Mythic Variations 2 just came around the corner to steal the show a bit. The new system for detail questions has probably great potential to help focus the narration on the plot, as you often end up referring to either the threads or NPCs.

So, at least in my eyes, from what I can see thus far, a combination of Mythic (with Variations 2) and Libre would be a good way to get some very plot-driven adventuring.

Personally, I really like Libre's scene setup procedure, which forces me to add things to the scene that I would otherwise not have thought of.

BTW, you can download the action sheets for Libre at the blog, which give quite a lot of information about things (including scene setup). You can probably use them to play Libre light.

I am really looking forward to the release of the final product and plan to purchase as soon as possible.

    Yours,
    Deathworks
