The 20th anniversary edition of Wraith: The Oblivion is going to be out fairly soon. As one of its authors :), I'll be wanting to do some play with it. Does anyone have experience with doing solo play of the World of Darkness system, and/or want to point me at advice, resources, etc?

  1. Hello, Bruce! First of all, congratulations for your work!
Second, I have been running solo adventures and campaigns using "Changelling: The Dreaming" and "Wraith: The Oblivion" since I started my solo researches about 2 years ago, and I have enjoyed a lot! I think Wraith is one of the best scenarios to play in a solo mode, because is, in my opinion, the most personal RPG that I know. I played Wraith in a group too and it was amazing, but solo i can reach a deeper level that it was impossible in a group!
And I didn't change anything of the setting or the rules...I just substitute the Storyteller by an Oracle (in this case, the Fate Chart from Mythic).
The World of Darkness system is really simple to adapt to solo play.

  2. Tarcisio Lucas, thanks! That's good to hear. I agree about Wraith having a lot of good solo potential, given the depth characters can have.
