All the talk about CRGE lately has me wanting to give it another look after having first dismissed it. One thing about it that turned me off about it was the multiple d100 tables that also required math (surges) before I could interpret a result.

Maybe some ideas from the Morning Coffee Solo Variations (MCSV) Mythic hack could help. (Linked below for the unfamiliar)

Instead of the three existing d100 tables for yes/no questions, we could roll two dice for each question:

A d6 (pipped, to tell it apart) for yes or no, scaleable to likelihood by asking, "How likely on a scale of 1-5 is 'yes' the answer?" Equal to or less than the result is a yes.

- 1 V. Unlikely
- 2 Unlikely
- 3 50/50
- 4 Likely
- 5 V. Likely

With that d6, also roll a "surge die" that starts as a d20 and steps down in size (d12, 10, 8, 6, 4) each time your roll produces an unaltered result.

- 1 And
- 2 And
- 3 But
- 4 Unexpectedly
- 5+ Unaltered result

Altered results reset the surge die to d20.

I haven't had a chance to try this yet. Will report back if I get some solo play with it, but feel free to try it on your own the CRGE's d100 tables turned you off.
