My microRPG challenge for November is up! #OMGAM #SGAM2017
I ended up scrapping the game I had ready to go because when I pulled it up after a couple of weeks of sitting I realized it was THE WORST GAME EVER MADE!!!! and could never see the light of day.
It's got a fun "roll some dice and use them when you feel like it later" mechanic, Foresight. Pbta-style resolution, using an assembled pool. Stats that riff on A Dirty World and slide around a lot in play. Some new charts, some cribbed from last month's game because they fit so well. A fun flowchart style scene structure.
All in all, quite a bit of fun to write, and seems to work well in practice -- but of course, I know how it's supposed to work! As always, love to hear what people think.

I updated the first section a bit, hopefully it's clearer now! I also started a modern vampire game with it; it's fun how the "Foresight" pool can reflect precognition, or just advanced information, or supernatural power, or whatever.
ReplyDeleteThis is super interesting. Is there an example of play? You tube, audio, anything?
ReplyDeleteNo, I usually do a couple of text playtests but this one's went in a weird direction* and I'm still putting together a good AP. Should have one up this evening, with at least a few scenes.
ReplyDelete* notice how I put all the blame on the game and not my strange brain? Haha.
