1. Should you roll XP after 10 minions (total) or 10 encounters with minions (any number of minions per encounter)?
2. Is Four Against the Abyss actually the "deeper dungeons" expansion that's mentioned, or is that still forthcoming?
3. The rules recommend a 20x28 squares grid -- is this the size you use? Too big, too small, just right? (working on a "play sheet" to share - 2nd pic preview )
My first game didn't end well! I rolled a dragon in the 2nd room and fought for a bit to see how tough they were, used up a lot if resources before withdrawing. Next my wizard died, then things actually went smoothly for a bit. Eventually though, I rolled a Medusa boss and she turned my cleric and rogue to stone before eating my Barbarian.
I'm excited to try again, though, and maybe try some variations using printed maps and geomorphs, then maybe some of the published adventure modules (assuming they're worthwhile?).
I made this...

ReplyDeleteThe 3 above in my original post. ;-)
ReplyDeleteFor #1, The rules for leveling up say "10 encounters" with minions, but I've seen others doing 10 minions in total, which seems excessive...
In addition to those 3, do you roll room contents on the entrance room?
1 10 encounters.
