I thought I had my "Rolling Solo" series about wrapped up, but when I was reviewing the huge, monolithic post, I decided it needed to be broken up. So here's part 1 of 3, where I summarize Mythic GME for new players with a brief example.

  1. I have to say, I stumbled on your blog a little over a week ago, just after I started solo RPing, and it's great. Also, a little too on the nose (dad, not enough time, etc)! I was excited to read the Mythic post and look forward to the next installment.

While I'm thinking my first fantasy-setting solo RP might be via the FF Genesys system (since I think the narrative dice are so fun to interpret and it has worked well for Star Wars), I'm interested in learning more about Sharp Swords and Sinister Spells from the solo perspective.

  2. Also should have mentioned, your choice of Hero Kids was perfect, since I have just started to run my son through some of those adventures!

  3. Thanks Ryan B ! Be sure to check out my Hero Kids GM screen and the encounter generator (the javascript one is sort of "alpha" quality at the moment, and it can produce a more difficult encounter than intended, but I'd love some playtesting and feedback on it). Let me know how playing with the kids goes! Mine are a tad young, but they still enjoy it. :)
