Finally finished my first AP of Untold: Adventures Await! I've been working on this for awhile, but some unexpected travel derailed me for a bit. Anyway, here it is:
*Untold: PSI Division 6*
A squad of supernaturally enhanced agents investigates paranormal events and anomalies around the world. A little bit X-Files… and a little bit X-Men.
*Episode 1*
PSI Division agent Koji Shimizu investigates reports of a mysterious Mayan relic discovered off the coast of Mexico. When the relic goes missing, Koji uncovers an ancient blood prophecy and comes face-to-face with a paranormal threat thought lost for thousands of years.

ReplyDeleteGreat story with a great protagonist. This would be a cool show!
ReplyDeleteIt speaks very highly of the system that it makes the finished result read like it was planned that way. Looking forward to playing more episodes.
ReplyDeleteOne kind of non-standard thing I did was that sometimes I would draw a reaction card before deciding what the hero was going to do. Almost treating the reaction deck like an oracle or a PC emulator. Not all the time... but sometimes.
ReplyDeleteA few times I was staring at the screen, wondering what the heck Koji was going to do to get himself out of the situation I had written him into, so I would draw a card to get a reaction and then write an action to fit it.
One example of this is Action 6 of 6 in the Showdown scene. I drew a card and got Red / Confusion / ...but..., then decided that that meant the blood demon had potentially escaped.
Karl Hendricks that's an interesting way to use the Reaction Deck. We've since changed the design so that you first resolve the Outcome (Successful/Unsuccessful) with some And..., But... variation. You then draw a Reaction card to describe what the response is to the outcome. I'm curious how this might change how you play.
