So, related to the post I linked below, I wanted to run an idea by the group. It's more along the lines of Human Oracle than true shared solo play, but it sounds fun to me. Maybe it will even encourage people to participate in each others' APs, who knows.

So, related to the post I linked below, I wanted to run an idea by the group. It's more along the lines of Human Oracle than true shared solo play, but it sounds fun to me. Maybe it will even encourage people to participate in each others' APs, who knows.

So, in the post linked here I proposed that it could be fun to treat an Oracle like an audience that you're telling a story to. I also think that it can be immersive to ask it questions in-character, such as: "Would you believe me that a whale fell out of the sky and killed my pursuer?"

Well, what if you asked an actual audience to tell you yes or no to that question? Would that be fun for both the person playing the PC and the persons playing the participating audience? Hit me with your thoughts!

  2. That's one of the games that came to mind afterwards, when I was looking for systems that did it. Someone at story games also reminded me of the Sundered Land ap's here:

Those are not so much in-character questions, but they have the audience participation. Would love for someone to try that on the Oracle Driven Group Play section or at the Human Oracle group. I'd be all over the audience part.

  3. I just read over those a few days ago, and I was totally blown away! Extremely interesting, but seems like it would take a brave person to start one.

The thing is, as interesting as I find reading the plays, I'm just not a fan of "doomed" anything unless it emerges in play. Not knocking it for people who are, of course. I should sketch out some rules for a "You're Not a Doomed Pilgrim But You Might Be" thing. Haha.
