Have been thinking about simplifying it and making it more like Tunnels and Dragons.
There are a lot of rules but they're intuitive. And random table based.

So has anyone here used the Mythic RPG rules and not just the GM Emulator? Of so what did you think?

Last night, I was able to finally do a GMless/Oracle drive group play. It was a heck of a lot fun, and I'm looking forward to more games like this. A few folks asked for an AAR, so here it is. I wonder how many people play games like this, because I'm kind of infatuated with the idea of zero-prep/no GM gaming.

I FINALLY convinced one of my friends to try a GMless game with me, powered by Mythic. We started around 8:30 with me explaining how Mythic worked, and called it for the night 2 hours later, our investigators (we decided on Call of Cthulhu) collapsed in our hotel room after a thrilling car chase and escape from the strange cult we had stumbled upon after looking into potential insurance fraud from a university professor.

I FINALLY convinced one of my friends to try a GMless game with me, powered by Mythic. We started around 8:30 with me explaining how Mythic worked, and called it for the night 2 hours later, our investigators (we decided on Call of Cthulhu) collapsed in our hotel room after a thrilling car chase and escape from the strange cult we had stumbled upon after looking into potential insurance fraud from a university professor.

For an absolutely ZERO prep game, it was glorious. I took me years of trying to convince my friends to try it out, now we're playing it again tomorrow. This may not technically be a "Solo" post, but the tools and skill I've learned in Solo playing have opened up an entirely new way to play. And, damn, is it fun.

I just got to say that Mythic emulator is fantastic at World building.

Has anyone used 7th Sea 2E for solo games? Does it work well? Do you use solely 7th sea material or do you supplement with an oracle like Mythic or alike?

All right folks, I want to give another look at these "ultra fast, minimal rules, generic" games you all keep talking about. I want to start a new game using one of them as the base line. At this point, I don't know what kind of game, still playing around with genre and character. So...which system should I use?

At the end of my last post, Hanson was ready to set off to get more information. The scene seed is "Trick an Actor into revealing a Clue." At this point, her best point of reference is Cora, and who she is working for. BUT, other leads could be "who has a grudge against Dona (the religious revivalist) and/or Blaine (Dona's "patron")?" Or, something else entirely.

So, help me out!

Who should the "Actor" be? Is he a human? Vampire? Something else entirely?

What information MIGHT he have for Hanson?

Why won't he reveal it willingly OR for a bribe?

Where do they meet? A hot and happening nightclub? Swanky gallery opening? Down by the docks? Somewhere less cliche?

Does Hanson know anything about this guy (or girl)? Does she know any kind of "trick" that MIGHT work? Whatever is is, it should be difficult to pull off, and Hanson's best Social Attribute is her Appearance, if that helps any.

Anything else interesting that could happen?

As a geek dad I do my best to get my kids into gaming. My 5-year old daughter really likes fighting monsters and taking their stuff. We play with simple rules and use a d6. We can move 6 squares and attack. We hit on a 4 or higher. Every hit causes 1 point of damage. We have 5 hitpoints, normal monsters have 1, boss monsters have 3. Monsters also hit on 4+. The tokens are treasures we have to collect. My daughter set up the board, picked the monsters and placed them. Great fun.
