Just a teaser, reminder, challenge. Tomorrow is New Year's Eve and if you don't have any plans, I'd like to suggest trying your hand at Six Hours to Midnight.

  1. Haha, thanks Todd! I might give it another go myself, just to see if I can repeat how much fun the first play test was!

  2. I haven't given up on this. Got a couple hours in and then had unplanned guests and gaming until dawn. So, still working on it and seeing how bad I mangle it. :-)

  3. Oh, I'm excited to see how it goes! Just have fun with it. Hope it's not too "idiosyncratic". Ha.

  4. Heh, three hours to midnight and I'm already in for 2,200 words.  If it's not idiosyncratic, it's indulgent.  :-)

  5. Yeah, my whole goal was to create a "framework" to hang an actual story on! Been noodling in that direction ever since. That's the lovely thing about solo -- you can have a rough framework and nobody feels railroaded, and it's not nearly as much work as keeping up a storyline for 5+ people. Of course it does have its own challenges!

Sorry for the late reply, we got hit by two different viruses and it's been a long week!

  6. Glad to hear that you're on the mend.  Honey-do weekend so not much done on my story.  Two hours 'til Midnight!  :-)

  7. Finally was able to get the time to wrap this story up. I hope it puts a smile on someone's face.

  8. That was awesome. I love the mythos (I have a soft spot for it), and it was really neat to see your vision built up and then revealed. Did you find it sort of snowballed as you went, adding a few little details at a time? Or was it more pre-planned?

I definitely smiled (and laughed) quite a bit. The ending was epic. I'm insanely curious what your rolls/thought processes were now! I really enjoy how these little oracle games can create such wonderful stories.

Very very fun to see someone else's interpretation of the 6 Hours "vivid color", too! Thank you. :)

  9. The story kind of snuck up on me as the dice rolled along.  I went in with the idea of a build up to a big sorcerer's duel, but as the story played out I realized this was a tale about Pendragon and Morgan rather than a duel against Nightshade.  No actual werewolves where harmed in the making of this story. [A lot of lucky rolls at the end.]
