Finally got around to posting the first chunk of my vampire & noir adventure.
Not really an "Actual Play" of any particular system (unless you count the terrible things I've done to Scarlet Heroes as a "system) but still fun. From October-ish.
As always, pretty much everything is randomly generated in Pythia and I come up with little things like backstory and such off the top of my head while playing.

Oh, thanks for asking! :) Pythia-Oracle. Some of the mechanics are from various sources (all properly licensed) and quite a bit of it is my own invention (obviously while standing on the shoulders of great DIYers). Here's the help if you're interested in reading about the features:

To address the ones you mentioned specifically, the seeds are pulled from various public domain books, the wheel is based mostly on wikipedia's pages on psychology, and quirks are just everything and anything off the top of my head and stumbled over web browsing. There's actually two variations on quirks -- visible and hidden.
There's actually quite a bit more by way of tools in there now since I've updated things extensively since mid-October. Notably, I added Mythic (FU is still there) which has its own set of seeds (and variations for genre!) and does opposed checks directly.
I should totally do a screencast play sometime so you can see how often I typo. Or just sit there staring at a result going "huh". Hahaha.
Oh, almost forgot, nothing in there except maybe triggers is really all that dependent on using Pythia; you could pretty easily grab almost anything you'd like out of the source and turn it into a standalone script (or table). If there's interest I would be happy to do standalone python scripts for any part people would like.
ReplyDeleteInteresting project you have there. Maybe I try it sometime. Thanks for telling about it.
