I have read most of Ironsworn (only the first part, I am not interested in the setting at the moment) and I like it. In the last weeks I have played many solo battles with the free Valor&Victory wargame. So I'll make an attempt to mix the two. WW2 Ironsworn. I like VV, but my storytelling thirst is not satisfied by just interesting battles. Since the wargame details leaders as individual "pieces", the leaders of a platoon are the ideal candidates to add some RPG depth. I am curious to see what comes out of this....

This is very cool
ReplyDeleteYes, it is very cool. Can't wait to see what becomes of it. Did some looking at BGG and there are 9!! pages of downloads for V&V. Is there anywhere to get maybe a zipped file of all the components?!
ReplyDeleteJohn Risus Navigating through the files is not easy. Also, the rules have changed through the years, so some documents are not up-to-date. The point to start from is the wiki page:
ReplyDeleteboardgamegeek.com - Valor & Victory
which links a few scenarios that can be played with a single page of counters:
https://boardgamegeek.com/filepage/61985/starters-kit-counter-sheet
This chaos of files risks to dissuade new players, but if you have a look at the rules, they are very well written and accessible. A map, a few counters, and you are good to go :)
