I normally do a journal log, with the mechanics on page and the narrative on the opposite. If I'm writing using Google Docs then the Comment App is wonderful for the mechanics, plus this way I can import pictures / maps / scanned ephemera into the document too.
If it is on a forum, a journal/PBEM format. Although I'll sometimes use a spread sheet since I can embed tables and randomizers as well have a very tidy format..
I'm kind of an Excel nerd so for most games I have an Excel workbook that is character sheets, adventure log, combat calculator, list of random names, etc. The adventure log sheet is generally an intro (date, weather, place, etc.) and then two columns -- what I ask Mythic in one and Mythic's answers in the adjacent one.
I either use a good old paper notebook or the online Quip website/app. I imagine the scenes and events mostly in my head and jot down key events, random idea generator results etc. I then later write up a narrative from my notes with some key mechanics in a seperate paragraph at the end. Kevin Shinners Im with you as someone whom spends far too long in Excel for work - its easy to use for gaming projects - Though I'm trying to use Google Sheets from here on out - so I can have on multiple devices & share directly... [Though I have nothing to share yet... No Solo Actual Plays for a long while]
Ovy Ortega Passes = rereading + minor edits (major spelling and obvious grammar stuff that I notice) - nothing too professional. Publish blog post = make it live and viewable to the public.

I mainly just update a note pad I have. I used to have the Mythic Log sheets, but I figured it was easier to just log them on a notepad.

I usually use a sheet very close to the Mythic Adventure Summary Sheet but without the chaos factor
