I'm currently brainstorming a method to generate scenes/plots with only the use of the Everway Fortune Deck as oracle. I was thinking to go down the list of Dungeon World Discern Realties questions, and draw one card for each.

* What happened here recently?
* What is about to happen?
* What should I be on the lookout for?
* What here is useful or valuable to me?
* Who’s really in control here?
* What here is not what it appears to be?

Any other suggestions on the subject of using Everway/the Fortune deck as a solo RPG?

  2. Years ago Wizards of the Coast produced an RPG which was called Everway, it used a lovely card deck instead if Dice.

  3. I use the Everway companion cards to inspire my solo rpging a lot. I'll outline my method below, but I did a write up of my method in RND issue 3 (PWYW: http://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/189518/RND--issue-3?manufacturers_id=9108)

    Basically, you draw some cards to set up the story framework (What is to be achieved? Who blocks this achievement?).
    Next you draw cards to set up a scene to be interpreted within the story framework. For each scene, you draw two cards: one is the location, one is the conflict.
    For each scene, there is a chance that another complication occurs or an NPC enters the scene.
    Repeat until done.
