The UNE has a fantasy tilt to it and I needed something a little more modern/futuristic. So, I made a thing which changes up the words and probabilities and adds some features that I need. You can support Zack's family and pick up the UNE here: http://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/134163/UNE-The-Universal-NPC-Emulator-rev (PWYW)

Awesomeness
ReplyDeleteThis is great! It's maybe the first time I consider using an online tool :)
ReplyDeleteI guess conservation is a typo for conversation?
I'll blame Auto-Correct. :-)
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking of doing something similar to this, but I have to admit I have a hard time coming up with the "terms." Any advice for coming up with the various verbs and nouns?
ReplyDeleteI used UNE as a base and just picked out and replaced the words like witch and wizard. For the conversation seeds, I googled 100 most common English words and then replaced some of those. What you can do is download the spread sheet and simply tweak words with those that are local to your setting/campaign to give it a more themed feel.
ReplyDeleteIf you don't have Microsoft Excel, just keep the sheet on Google Docs so the functions will continue to work. [Haven't tested it with Open Office yet.]
In the end, I made a D20 table of future McRandoms by repeatedly reloading Todd Zircher's spreadsheet. I plan to use this for SGAM. I would like to have something like 4 to 6 recurring NPCs that I could represent with paper minis in my Stay Frosty games. These descriptions look so inspiring, I hope I'll be able to see them in actual play!

I think #7 is my favorite. He knows things are going down and the shit will hit the fan. But, will he do something radical to fix it even if it makes him a traitor?
