"When in doubt, have a man come through a door with a gun in his hand."
--Raymond Chandler, The Simple Art of Murder
Hanson finally gets a break in her case, as she thwarts an attempted assassination.
And with this post, I'm putting "A Lonely Hope" on hiatus as I get ready for Solo Gaming Appreciation Month. I'm still not sure what I'm going to play for it, but I know I want to take a break from Vampire, and "modern supernatural" games in general.
For those who have been reading along, I'd like to ask a few questions, if I may. For this AP, I've been trying out a couple of new tools and a new format style.
Does the format style of mechanics/narrative/other thoughts work? Are there any improvements you would like to see? If you've read any of my older ones, do you prefer the more rigid style, or the "old school" free form style?
I'm using a couple of different tools and mechanics. Is this understandable? Is it clear which tool I'm using, why I'm using it, and how it's impacting the game?
Any other feedback? I'm always striving to not only challenge myself with my Solo gaming, but also with my Actual Play reports, and would greatly appreciate any comments or observations, both positive and negative.
Thanks, and see you all for #SGAM2017!

It totally works for me. Love the story so far.
ReplyDeleteYep, I'm finding it super easy to follow. And am totally envious of the formatting.
ReplyDeleteI think the style you've chosen for this game works excellently with the tone and grit.
I think your style works perfectly. Its more effort than I typically do, to be honest :)
ReplyDeleteIt's very easy to follow and its easy to understand most narrative and mechanical reasons for what is going on.
I'm finding your use of Scarlet Heros Investigation mechanics very interesting & instructive.:)
ReplyDeleteI like the new formatting. It definitely makes it even easier to follow, although I've not been having trouble following beforehand.
ReplyDeleteScarlet Heroes makes for a very interesting approach to solo roleplaying, I'm going to have to see about picking up a copy for my games.
I'm sad to see the game go on hiatus, but I understand the circumstances. Can't wait to see what you come up with next!
