Gnome Stew is looking at how to play solo with this article about CRGE: http://www.gnomestew.com/general/running-a-solo-game-gm-less/

Nothing new here for us veterans but I'm happy to see that they cover it. I'm guessing that they have a broad audience and this article might bring some folks to this niche. Unfortunately, they don't mention this community. :-(

  1. It's funny to see CRGE this morning -- I just started a game last night using my stash of Conjecture Games games!

ISC is fantastic; unfinished, but incredibly effective at setting up a scene, and combined with BOLD I had a story going in minutes.

  2. Thanks for sharing. I've stopped going to gnome stew lately, but I did comment on the post with a link to the group.

  3. Yeah, I was completely amiss in mentioning the Lone Wolf! I just joined, but I’ve been around before reading articles.

I’m happy you liked the article!

  4. nice found. One thing that we solo gamers often forget is that most solo engines and solo rpgs can also be played as a GMless group game (similar to microscope or fiasco) and probably this variant can attract more rpg players to this niche of gaming

  6. Frank Shic Microlite is great! I love reading all of the different rule sets people have come up with for it. Someone just collected all of the variants again in a 2027 edition. Warning: the PDF is huge! You can get just the core rules on a single page though.
