So I went back to the drawing board on my Apocalypse World - Lady Blackbird - solo mashup.
This is the result. Anyone feel like playtesting?
Note that it's been edited about as far as I can right now (it's "shelf for a week" time), so expect typos and rough spots and math errors.
I'm going to be constantly adding new scenarios and character options as they come up in my own games -- this is kind of a living document, so to speak.
Anyway, any feedback would be gratefully welcomed!

Well, each Scenario is essentially just a package of character options, plus a set of "Beginning" steps to get the ball rolling. So the scenario charts are designed to reinforce and assist with that -- jumping the initial "ack, blank page" hurdle.
ReplyDeleteThat's pretty much how I play -- often pages of random content at the beginning, until I have a good handle on the starting situation, and then the rest of it is mostly oracle and mechanics driven, with the exception of new actors, scene keywords, and random events.
As to the three d6s pattern, d66 pattern, or 3-/4+ pattern, that's entirely up to how many elements I could think up (36 is a lot of spots to fill with some variant of "hamlet") and how useful I thought the chart would be in the beginning of the Scenario, when you're following "The Beginning" steps.
I definitely need to give some of the Scenarios a little more love, though. It's pretty easy to tell which genres I'm most familiar with, I think.
I'm very glad you're enjoying it!
Interesting, so you fit pieces in while you play. I approach things more from a world building approach, so having categories of things (like different kinds of cities or starting problems) covers the bases I need to flesh things out.
ReplyDeleteI've just found, in play, that I can fill in a lot of details myself -- that it's much more important to my playstyle hit "why" instead of a specific "where". Hopefully the charts included with each scenario cover good starting points, though!
ReplyDeleteI feel like I definitely didn't include enough Scenario specific evocative keyword charts. Mostly because I tend to use the same general keyword charts with only slight variations all the time, and I didn't think it was worth repeating on each Scenario.
i think I'll go back now and add more of that in, plus maybe convert over 6 Days to Adventure into a pulp adventure scenario!
