Hiya everybody!

Hiya everybody!

Since Pythia's now pretty much where I want it to be, with Mythic support and all the generators I could think of, it's past time for me to start focusing on bug hunting and testing.

So I've started a new campaign, posting the resulting logs on my blog. Dunscaith is mostly a beta test for the new dungeon panel but I'm having a blast with it - it started out as a randomly generated megadungeon crawl and now, well, it's all gone quite wrong.

One really nice aspect of logging everything automatically is that you really get to see how the mechanics (or in my case, obliviousness to the mechanics) play out. Gets a little wordy sometimes, though. (Okay, all the time.)

Anyway, I'm not good at google posts so I'll just stop here. If anyone has any feedback, requests, or suggestions I'd love to hear them (both for the campaign and Pythia).

Happy solo gaming!

  1. Just an odd though sparked by a different thread. Is there a paper/PDF version of Pythia or is it something that only works online?

  2. Oh, it's purely a desktop program. Think like Mike Overbo 's randm solo only not online or in the cloud -- no internet required once you download it (it's not even installed, just run off of python and Kivy). Kind of a mashup of a text editor, a dice roller, and way too many random generator charts, haha.

Since I know a lot of people here do use paper, I have been very slowly translating some of the charts, oracles, and methods into pen and paper compatible ones as it occurs to me, over on my blog. But it's not a very cohesive process, just "hey, I use that a lot by pushing a button, here's how you can do it with a couple of d6s" or whatever.

The help file is pretty comprehensive, and outlines what each button does, so if anything appeals as a printable chart I can convert it!
