I've finally been doing a some actual play testing of a little game I've been making. I guess at this point it's about roleplaying a snapshot of an entire fantasy realm rather than roleplaying specific characters within that realm. But my next goal is to take the snapshots produced with this ruleset and design rules for role-playing adventures.
Anyways, here are my first couple play tests of the "world mode". The resulting realm descriptions are basically like reading the tea leaves of the map generated by the rules, which is surprisingly easy since all elements are spatially related.

Zachary Kline thanks for the feedback. I think it'd be interesting to design a mod that doesn't require an actual map to play. As I continue working on this map-centric version, I'll give it some thought. It would be an interesting design challenge.
ReplyDeleteTom Domanski I hadn't heard of Reign either. Really digging the writing on the site. My version of a 'company' is "Relationship Mapping" since I'm using a mapping theme for all my game systems. And it's next on the list. Still in the thick of it. but Reign looks like good fuel for the fire.
ReplyDelete+richRichard Foster keep us updated. I haven't found anything that's quite what I want but it looks like you are on that track of what I'm looking for.
