So I'm curious… How many of the games people play alone are ones they have previously played with other people? It seems that, to an extent, it could be beneficial to indulge in multiplayer first, to get the "feel," of the game. On the other hand, since in general few people will be interested in our individual efforts, does it matter as much? :-) Purely theoretical question for the most part.
I'm split down the middle with half coming from multi-player experience where I wanted to try a different story and half coming from play testing and purpose driven solo games.
ReplyDeleteAll the RPG gaming I do is solo.
ReplyDeleteI'm also about half-and-half. My solo efforts are a combination of old games I still like, trying the occasional new game that strikes my fancy, and campaign ideas that I'm pretty sure wouldn't work in a group setting. A lot of the time the feel that I get from a given game isn't the one that other people get, so solo keeps everyone happy.
