I do, for sure. I tend to bounce from game to game though, so it's hard to settle on one I might be interested in trying with. Been reading Eclipse Phase lately and thinking, "Oh, I should generate a life path character and see how that goes." And then I get distracted by something else. :)
I practically have a huge amount on the to-do list. Among them is playing Swords & Six-Siders and Quill. I have others, like Testament and Kantai Collection, and many, many more.
yes, I've been working on tables for sci-fi and hope to put a decent game together. I'm fairly satisfied with the collection of tables for fantasy, grim fantasy, and pirates, but it's surprising how much fantasy wins over sci-fi or space opera for the amount of content out there.
/with a tip of the hat to the solo traveller folks, that seems to be a fairy hefty solo contingent.
Not solo per-se in the aspect of mere players, as it's my wife and I, however we are using solo tools to emulate a GMless game of Heroquest: Glorantha. Looking forward to getting my GameMaster's Apprentice base deck, hopefully tomorrow.
I would like to come to some sort of conclusion or major milestone for my Lady Blackbird campaign. Then I would like to try Scarlet Heroes, possibly with White Star, and a single PC. I find it very hard to manage a party of PCs! I would also like to try the free GameMaster’s Apprentice cards that come with ALONe. I will certainly continue using RND by Chris Stieha.
I'm planning to start a solo campaign using Mutants & Masterminds soon (as soon as I finish fleshing out my character's background), and I want to try out ALONe at some point in the future, too. I also recently picked up the three core rulebooks for FFG's Star Wars and will probably try that out solo later in the year.
In addition, I have a couple unfinished games on my blog that I want to return to at some point.
Also, while not solo, I do hope to try a GMless FATE game in the near future using many of the tools I've collected for solo play.
my solo rpg to-do list is very long, too long probably! My solo adventures take more time than I expect, it's not really a bad thing because I enjoy them, but I'll try to simplify my games to play different settings during 2016: Braunstein, Traveller: Foible Federation, a victorian detective adventure, a Wardstone Chronicle inspired short adventure etc.
I'm just deciding on my go to system and then I'll reboot either my swashbuckling blog or my sci-fi blog, both of which haven't really started. I think it'll be my sci-fi blog first.
I find that One Note and similar tools are very good for the sneak a few minutes in here and there style of playing. Because the main doc sits in the cloud and you can access it via a browser. You can get to your words at work, home, on the road, or while waiting in line.
I haven't had much of a chance lately, but if I do, I'd like to get some Millenium's End, Monsters & Magic, Cyberpunk or TSR Conan in. I also have Journey To The Overland (a game like Barbarian Prince), but I need to laminate the map before I start using it.
Todd Zircher I've been using Google Keep for the same sort of thing, mainly lists as I love crossing things off when I'm done! Which is never enough unfortunately.
I’ve skimmed them a few times, and even made a character (which I lost). I haven’t actually played due to time constraints and the fact that I want to laminate the map first. :)
It’s definitely inspired by Barbarian Prince, its mechanics at least, but instead of having a booklet for events, you get them in card form—with all the advantages of handling that that entails.
I don’t think I’ll give too much away if I outline the steps of play (copied from the beta pdf because I don’t have the booklet handy):
1) Pull an Event Card (Beginning Of Week) 2) Pull a Weather Card (Daily)
3) Choose a Daily Action 4) Commit Action 5) If Traveling Check for Getting Lost If Entering New Terrain 6) If Traveling Check for an Encounter 7) Eat Meal. Pay For Lodging (If In a Town or Castle) 8) Pay Taxes on Money Earned or Acquired at the End of Each Week
9) Check for Dragon Flight Every Month
DAILY ACTIONS
1) Rest to heal wounds. 2) Travel 3) Engage in a battle (these will usually only occur in a war, where troops are still in conflict after previous battles.) 4) Town Activites: Seeking An Audience, News and Information, Hiring Help, etc. 5) Go To Work (See JOBS) 6) Build or repair something, (i.e. roads, towns, castles, monuments, etc.) 7) Practice or Train.
The system is percentile, and you determine the following abilities randomly:
MUSCLE (physical strength) AGILITY (dexterity) PRESENCE (charisma) WISDOM LUCK (sounds like a saving throw, but I don't remember the details) ENDURANCE (constitution) ABILITY (affects combat skill)
The rest of it gets into detail about these as it relates to combat, npc reactions, etc. You have rules for travel based on terrain and all that stuff, which is not that far in concept from a good old hexcrawl.
You should have gotten a link to download the electronic version, btw. You can log onto the survey at Backerkit.com. Once in go to Digital Rewards and all the PDFs are there.

ReplyDeleteI do as well. I've picked up Quill and the ALONe Beta, and I'd like to give both of those a shot in some capacity.

ReplyDeleteI always do, but rarely make the time to get to it.
ReplyDeleteYup! I've got solo Trail of Cthulhu ready to go, as soon as I get done adjusting to some medication changes.

ReplyDeleteI'd like to do some solo LoGaS too. I've been thinking about the Deck of Fate as a possible randomizer.
ReplyDeleteSo much. I'll be running 5e solo along with a Somnium Void campaign. Plus I'll be working on a tonne of Quill for release each quarter

ReplyDeletePS: and Aleksandar Battreps almost tempts me to try again some solo skirmishing: http://battreps.blogspot.com.br/2015/12/black-ops-part-1.html

ReplyDeleteConstantly on my to-do list. I'll only get the dice out if I have a few hours to play. I dont have that many hours free anymore :(

ReplyDeleteAlex Yari Have you read the rules for Journey to the Overland yet? I'm still waiting for my copy.
ReplyDeletehey Dennis Nolasco !
