Bad news solo RPG friends: We have an estimated 10 months until Google+ shuts down for individual use. We should probably start looking into migration to another platform soon. Alex Yari

I guess there's always Discord.
ReplyDeleteWe can also use Reddit or one of the forums.
ReplyDeleteSolo rpging will truly become solo.
ReplyDeleteHow can we pull the information off of this group before it gets lost?
Alex Yari Don't we have a forum somewhere? The one I tried to set up is gone because I didn't renew that website.
I support a Discord channel, and now we have one!

Alex Yari email me your discord name and I will add you. Email incoming.
discordapp.com - Discord - Free voice and text chat for gamers
I've also set up some alternatives way back in Facebook, Google Groups and now Reddit:
ReplyDeletesolorpggamer.blogspot.com - Solo RPG Links
I personally like Google Groups because it already integrates with your Google Account, so no need to sign up an account
if you are already in G+.
Chris Stieha I don't have a discord account yet! I'll create one if that's where everyone ends up going. :)
Alex Yari I'm currently setting up the Reddit. Message me your Reddit name and I'll add you as a mod.

James Smith Thanks but I already have a Reddit group with some activity in it: reddit.com - r/Solo_Roleplaying
ReplyDeleteAlex Yari Ah, whoops.
ReplyDeleteI'll have to check these out tonight. Although I'm wondering if we should sit tight until after SGAM before doing any kind of exodus.
ReplyDeleteTodd Zircher
ReplyDeleteThe only thing with waiting (if the news is reliable) is that we could potentially lose that SGAM content (though most of it would likely be in blogs anyway).
If it were me, I'd probably join the site that is most to my preference and try to create content there to hopefully attract people. Then check out the other sites down the line to see where most people actually went and join people where the action is.
Damn, seriously? Why are they shutting it down?
ReplyDeleteMoney, why else. The security thing is just an excuse.
