  1. It says that it works with SOLO, but I'm not familiar with that. Anyone know anything about SOLO?

  2. From what I read (I did buy Star Trader), it can stand on it own as an aid. SOLO is on my to-get list as well. Of course, we're all solo gamer gurus here and can improvise or randomize on the fly. :-)

  3. Same author. ;) From what I understand "Solo" is an expanded re-implementation for the Cepheus Engine as opposed to licensed "Traveller" brand.

That said, I have "Star Trader" & remember being highly impressed with it. I think it had the same "fortune in the middle" approach being discussed though? And it was ONLY for Free Trading (hence the EXPANDED part of "Solo")

Per the Drivethru RPG page Star Trader has recently been updated and rewritten and incorporated into SOLO, which allows solo roleplaying for ANY type of Traveller campaign or play style. Please have a look at SOLO.

Still, for .99 you can't go wrong if you're ONLY interested in Trading. ;)

  5. Honestly if this doesn't add a anything over what is in solo, then i wouldn't bother. Because if you are planning a traveler game then solo is definitely worth buying

  6. Understandable, in my case, I'm more likely to use the GME and ST as needed/desired. SOLO only popped up on my radar very recently.

On that note, has anyone done a review of it?

  7. Derp, I forgot that DTRPG sometimes has purchaser reviews. That answered my concerns. SOLO as a whole is not something I would use. I'm more of a play to find out guy. So, a system that resolves at the scene level is not my preference, I'll probably still get it at some point because I love reading rules and systems, but it is not a system that matches my preferred style.

  8. I'm still interested, but I really want to see it in action. I really need to crib my random game purchases no matter how reasonably priced they are, so I want to be sure it's something I'd actually use.

Plus, I love reading others "Let's Plays"

  9. To be honest I'm not sure i would use the scene resolution mechanics much either. The advice on running various kinds of traveller campaign solo and the game structures given however are really good.
